I loved playing the Artisan Seaside Market yesterday after the Bugs played ukulele. Rob Samson popped in with me for some guitar flourishes. Sophia Kelly, from my old band Bushy Park, jumped in for some ‘Cheatin’ Heart’ harmony.

Shout out to folks about the Art & Words Festival in the Gibsons Public Market on Aug 22-24th. I will be performing with Dino Vassos (mandolin & harmonica) & reading from Emily & Elspeth on Aug 24th at 6p after the awards ceremony. I judged the Diverse Voices Category. There are loads of lots of fascinating author readings & workshops.

Also next weekend, MJ Milne & I & authors from the Sunshine Coast will be in the Trail Bay Mall selling our books during the Sunshine Coast Writers Festival, Aug 16-17th.

On Sept. 19th, 2024, I will be reading & performing at the Sechelt Library at 11 am. Yes it is back in full swing after last year’s horrific flood.

I am so thrilled to be a part of the artistic community here. What a difference living here from in the West End of Vancouver. Such a welcoming. People care about others here in a way I have not experienced before. Twenty-one days into retirement & I feel like I have hit the jackpot.

Won’t you all come join us in this haven of art & literature & music. These are truly halcyon days in ‘nowhere else on earth.’
